Mix dal vada  

Ingredients
 
(makes upto 25 to 30 vadas)
1/4 cup green gram, whole (moong),
1/4 cup moth beans (mataki),
1/4 cup whole lentil (masoor) ,
1/4 cup chick peas or black peas (chana)
1/4 cup bengal gram, split (chana dal),
1/4 cup black gram, split (udad dal) ,
1/4 cup black eyed beans,
4 tsp white sesame seeds,
And any available pulses 1/4 cup each,
red chili powder,
a bunch of curry leaves,
salt,
oil for frying.
Dalvada
 
Method

1) Soak all the pulses separately for 5-6 hours.

2) Drain the water and coarse grind the pulses together. Use as little water as possible for grinding.

3) Add salt, chili powder, sesame seeds and curry leaves in the batter.

4) Now heat some oil in a pan. Add 2-3 tsp hot oil in the batter for crispiness. Check whether the oil is hot enough to fry vadas. Turn the heat on medium now.

5) Make small round balls of desired size and flatten them. Fry these balls till light brown and crispy.


Tip: If fried on high heat, vadas turn brown from outside whereas innerside remains uncooked.
Onions and crushed ginger and garlic also gives good flavor to vadas.
